Current Projects
I am currently reporting on drug war violence and the persecution of migrants in Mexico, with the help of a Knight Luce Foundation Fellowship for Reporting on Global Religion. The project entails traveling to more than twenty locations along the migrant route in Mexico with a group of Central American mothers searching for their disappeared children — visiting morgues, hospitals, and church-run migrant shelters along the way. I am also continuing to cover the domestic war on drugs, and I’m always open to new story ideas/suggestions. Please feel free to be in touch: sarah.scott.stillman (at) gmail.com.

Sarah,
I read your article about Rachel Hoffman in the Dallas Morning News today – 11.25.12. I sympathized with Rachel’s father and it evoked a lot of emotion. Enlisting young offenders to go undercover by circumvention of Miranda essentially condones extortion as a Police Power. The recent legalization of marijuana in Colorado and Washington will contribute to the already confused masses of high school and college kids. I’m very concerned where all this is headed. It would seem many more stories on this subject will unfold. As a concerned parent I hope you continue to write about this topic.
